How Much Is Not Enough?
- April 2010

A hockey player is offered 20 Million Dollars to play hockey for one team.
The hockey player says, "let me think about it?"

The player and his agent feel they can get more. His union members have
told him, "get as much as you can." So to answer the opening question, how
much is not enough? the answer is 20 Million Dollars.

Turning down that much money doesn't make sense.

We're told that is does makes sense. The thinking is the player can get
another 5 million from another team
. We're told, "that is how it's done
and that hockey is a business". That thinking is all fine and good, but it's
the root of all that is wrong with professional sports today. It would be
nice to see players want to play for a team instead of having to play for
another team because they thought too much money wasn't enough.

Is that asking for too much?
